Refresh and Repurpose Your Interior Decorations!

Repurpose simply means to be make things more attractive and interesting. So unleash your designer’s eye and make those changes to your interior decoration like; adding the right piece(s), or eliminating items that are not quite right. Finding and repurposing items in your home may add just the right touch and focal point you need to take the space to the next level. Check out our tips below to complete your action plan.

What to Add?

Change the décor colour and  interior decoration in the room – Do you have a colour you have seen and just love it? Why not purchase a few décor pieces like; pillows, a throw, candles, and baskets,  in that colour and texture and see the space comes to life.

Art Work – re-working and changing existing artwork is one of the fastest ways to Refresh your space.  So take all the pieces off your walls, and re-group them, and then re-hang them in a different room.  This will bring new interest to any room. 

Lighting Fixtures – New lighting instantly changes and adds personality to your space. There are so many interesting and different style choices, it is easy to Refresh your space. 

What to take away?

Furniture – Do you like the flow and style in the space? Do you have too many pieces?  Or sadly do some need to be replaced? Re-work your room with a new space plan, and you will get a better flow.

Décor Items – Organize your existing décor items in collections, or seasonal themes is a good place to start. Once you have accomplished this, you then can decorate with each collection at different times of the year, thus giving new interest to your space. Store your unused collections, for another day.

Just too Much – Sometimes when we live in a space, we forget that we may have just too much. Kitchens are one on those rooms.  Clear off the counter, and put those unused small appliances in the cabinets, and open up the space.  Add a vase with flowers on the counter instead to Refresh your kitchen.

Try re-purposing items already in your home.

Décor & Art Work – Curating décor collection and art work with existing pieces in your home is a great way to Refresh the space.  Again, unleash your designer’s eye and improve the interior decorations, see what collection you can re-create.

Changing the focal point – When walking in a room what do you see first? that is your focal point, now change it. With new art work and décor, with a mirror maybe, or switch furniture around. Surprise yourself.

Paint it – Small table, picture frames, small vanities can all be painted out in a different colour to add interest and charm, and placed in a different space. Voila! You have Refreshed  your space!
